How M&M Detailing handles your information when you book a detail, message us, or simply look around this site. Plain English, no surprises.

Who we are
This site is run by M&M Detailing, a car detailing studio at Unit 14, Trent Trading Park, Botteslow Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, ST1 3LY. We are the data controller for the information described below.

What we collect, and why

On the booking form your name, phone number and car are required so we can reply and quote; everything else is optional. If you would rather not give them, message us on WhatsApp instead.
We do not take card details on this website, we do not buy or sell contact lists, and we do not use your details for automated decision-making or profiling.
Cookies
Nothing that tracks you loads until you choose. When you first arrive, the analytics code is not even downloaded — the cookie bar asks first, and Reject is one press, exactly like Accept. If you reject, or change your mind later, any analytics cookies already on your device are deleted.

Changed your mind? Reopen the cookie choice and pick again. Rejecting has no effect on the site — everything works either way.
The videos on this site are hosted by us and set no cookies. Our contact page shows a map from Google Maps; when it loads, Google may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. Links to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and WhatsApp take you to those services, which handle your data under their own terms.
The fonts on this site are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers receive your IP address when a page loads. No cookie is set by that request.
Who else sees it
- Netlify (US) — hosts this website, keeps short-lived server logs, and stores and emails us your booking form after spam-checking it with Akismet.
- Google (Analytics & Tag Manager) — usage statistics tied to a random visitor ID, only with your consent. Google Maps on the contact page and Google Fonts on every page also receive your IP address.
- Microsoft (Clarity) — session recordings and heatmaps, only with your consent. Form fields are masked.
- WhatsApp / Meta — if you choose to message us there, under their own terms.
- SH Studios — our web team, who maintain the site and may see form submissions while doing so.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where that happens, transfers are protected by the UK–US Data Bridge, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or another safeguard recognised under UK GDPR. Ask us if you would like a copy.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not turn into a booking — 12 months, then deleted from our inbox and from the hosting dashboard.
- Customer and job records — 6 years, because HMRC requires us to keep business records that long.
- Analytics — no longer than 14 months for visit-level data, then deleted automatically by Google. Clarity recordings are kept by Microsoft for up to 30 days.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, hand it over in a portable format, or object to us using it. You can also withdraw consent for analytics whenever you like. Just ask — email batman@mmdetailing.uk and we will respond within one month, free of charge.
Complaints
If we get it wrong, tell us first and we will put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. This version replaces anything published before 4 September 2026.
